Downtown Cambridge BIA to kick off first ‘wedding week’ in March

“The creation of Cambridge Wedding Week is based on what we see developing around our downtown. We have top-tier wedding services set against one of the most beautiful historic downtowns,” said Brian Kennedy, executive director of the Downtown Cambridge BIA, in a news release.

“Cambridge Wedding Week 2023 is our way to tie these incredible offerings together to present something truly spectacular to put Cambridge on the map as a premier wedding destination now and in years to come.”

“Cambridge Wedding Week is a celebration of love, community and the incredible wedding industry we have here in Cambridge,” said Brian Kennedy, executive director of the Downtown Cambridge BIA and the visionary behind the event, in the release.

“Cambridge Wedding Week is more than a celebration; it’s a testament to our city’s economic vitality and the significant impact weddings play on local tourism,” said Kennedy.

Downtown Cambridge BIA announces next artist to be featured in outdoor gallery

Executive Director of the Downtown Cambridge BIA, Brian Kennedy, believes the newest art installation helps further achieve that goal.

"The Galtway has turned an overlooked space into a vibrant destination, drawing people to explore and enjoy the art and inviting atmosphere it now offers," Kennedy said.

"It's a remarkable placemaking project, sparking conversations around opportunities for more arts and cultural activities in our city. A dynamic hub for artistic expression and community engagement, it enriches Downtown Cambridge."

Downtown Cambridge BIA launching local gift card program

“We wanted to evolve our program to better lock in funds to our downtown businesses and provide a seamless buying experience for the purchaser and the recipient to be able to use the gift card at our local shops.”

Kennedy points out that the gift card will be used for campaign giveaways, incentives and more in support of shopping locally. He hopes residents take full advantage of this unique opportunity.

Lower Main Street road closure returning to Galt this summer

"We're thrilled to announce plans to once again close lower Main Street," Brian Kennedy, executive director of the Downtown Cambridge BIA, said.

"This decision comes after the resounding success of previous road closures and the overwhelming support from our community and our BIA members for its continuation. This initiative aligns with our ongoing efforts to make downtown a vibrant place for visitors and locals alike to spend time."

The ‘Stay True’ Brand Campaign in Partnership with the University of Guelph is a collaborative effort aimed at engaging our community of shoppers both at Stone Road Mall, on campus and beyond…

“Our goal was to create a dynamic campaign that blends retail promotion with community engagement, sparking interest while fostering local pride and connection,” said campaign creator Brian Kennedy. Kennedy said the main purpose of the ads were to “highlight the exceptional talent nurtured at the University of Guelph and showcase their contributions to the community.”
